The Wildman of North America, also known as Bigfoot/Sasquatch, has been a legend and apart of the Indigenous Peoples of North America folklore for thousands of years.  Generations passed on stories of the hairy man that lived in woods, stealing children, woman, and food.  During the 1950’s, loggers of the Pacific North West began infiltrating deep woods resulting in the illusive creatures appearance into the modern world.  Loggers and hunters would find tracks, and hear whistling at night.  It was during the era that the creature was given the name “Bigfoot”.   There are many different folklore groups that Bigfoot has a place in, indigenous peoples of North America, Loggers, children, and the media.  Mostly, bigfoot is a verbal type of folklore—stories being passed down through the ages.
